Tesla Model 3: Welcome the newest addition to our fleet

We now provide in home moving estimates powered by the sun! We recently purchased a new 2018 Tesla Model 3, which is an electric car. We also already have a 17kwh solar system installed on the roof of our warehouse which provides all of the electricity we use in our office, and to power this car.  Our in home moving estimates are now brought to you without any carbon or the use of any fossil fuels. Stay tuned, we’ll be posting a detailed review of the vehicle from the perspective of a truck driver and business owner. Check out our review of our latest truck, the 2018 Isuzu FTR.

Small businesses can do their part

We believe small businesses need to play a role in fighting climate change and working towards a sustainable future. We’re looking forward not just to running this piece of equipment, but the future electrification of our entire fleet, and thus powering it in-house with our own power generation. Small businesses are nexuses of the local economy and can leverage their cash-flow and community involvement to help lead the way on issues like climate change. We have the resources to try new things and the reach to demonstrate the viability of new technologies.

Electric Vehicles and Moving

Our favorite truck manufacturer, Isuzu, is already testing electric versions of their trucks. Once they’re available we plan to be one of their first customers. It’s important to look at technology and how it will benefit and interact with the moving business, and the more affordable Tesla Model 3 was a great opportunity to get a view of the future. Talking about electric vehicles is one thing, but to really understand how they’re going to change trucking or transportation, you really need to drive one every day. Now that I’ve been using this car for two weeks, I’m completely convinced all vehicles will be electric soon. Electric is truly ready for prime-time.

Local moving is also a great way to start. Our typical local jobs are short range and always return to our warehouse at the end of the day. This means minimal battery power will be needed, and charging can be done at the warehouse where the trucks are dispatched.

This isn’t the only green initiative we have…

Please check our the portion of our website that describes our involvement in moving forward our green agenda. Between our solar install, electrification, materials recycling, and advocacy, there’s no other moving company that even comes close to our level of commitment.
